Back in time at Beamish

Winner of the prestigious 'European Museum of the Year', Beamish is a massive 300-acre reconstruction of a town and village in 1913, with period houses, shops, school and costumed characters.

Put on a hard hat and go down the drift mine, take a ride on the 1825 Pockerley Waggonway, a period tram or see the replica of the 1813 steam locomotive, Puffing Billy, in action.

A whole day is needed to explore Beamish in full.
