Come to surf school at Tynemouth’s Longsands beach, where fully-qualified instructors will teach you all the moves, or sit back and ride through the countryside on the Weardale Steam Railway.
Animal mad? How about horse-riding, or seeing puffins and seals on a Farne Islands boat trip? Younger visitors will love to meet the animals at one of our children’s farms.
Older kids can go wild at Beamish Wild, the new ropes activity centre high in the treetops at Beamish Hall, or try orienteering in Northumberland National Park or the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Can’t decide? Combine fresh air, action and animals in one visit, on a quad bike safari at Woolaw Farm in Northumberland National Park!
